Brand identity implementation
Arirang is a popular family-run Korean restaurant that has been located at the same address in central Stockholm since 1975.
The owners of Arirang, the Limm family, approached Ohlsonsmith when they wanted to update the restaurant's brand identity.
Our challenge was to create a seamless feeling between all touchpoints, ranging from the atmosphere in the restaurant and online environment to the take-away packaging. We wanted to preserve Arirang’s history and origins, while indicating its position today – as a very popular restaurant in a cosmopolitan culinary city.
We decided to keep the existing logotype, and built around it an identity that is tranquil and understated – but with a very distinct, self-assured character. Working with details, such as the choice of paper and printing techniques, we always kept the main focus on the food – in everything from the menu, packaging, shopping bags, business cards, gift cards, promotional material, digital design and ambient branding.
