    This is one of three installations Ohlsonsmith made as a part of Swedish Workshop, a business speed dating meeting held by VisitSweden in Stockholm. Our contribution was to create an over all emotional identity to this important two day conference. This included conceptualising, design, namegiving, verbal indentities, logotypes, labels, products, activities and entertainment. Every single part was made to create and enhance good business and strong momentum for this years single biggest get together between the Swedish tourist industry and their foreign partners. This is what design really is all about. To create emotional feelings that starts or strengthen relations. Mission completed.

    The second issue of Berghs Print was lauched today at the grand opening of Berghs School of Communication’s end of year exhibition 2010. As the former issue, the first of its kind, Berghs Print opens the gates to Berghs showing all intresting things that goes on here. People, ideas, thoughts, and projects in the ever changing world of communication. The theme for the second issue has been CSR and sustainability together with portraits and interviews with a selection of the stunning number of 800 teachers and 3000 students that are involved in this school every year.     We are very proud to announce that our creative director, Barbro Ohlson Smith, has been invited for the board of directors of Komm, the Swedish Association of Communication Agencies. The Swedish Association of Communication Agencies is an organisation for independent companies active in the business area of communication, owned by its 280 member companies. The Association defines communication in a wider sense, embracing numerous areas in its exstensive value chain. Komm works with the aim of promoting mutual benefit and a stronger market situation for agencies and their customers.

    We are proud to announce that Ohlsonsmith's creative director, Barbro Ohlson Smith, will be one of the prominent speakers at Habit Fashion Summit - The Fashion Industry's Day 2010 at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm on the 19th of May. A well known forum for decision makers in the Scandinavian Fashion Industry, the summit once a year gathers leading actors to put focus on current issues in the industry. Barbro will speak about Visual Branding and its opportunities. How overall visual thinking boosts the brand, improves and increases business.

    Every second year VisitSweden arranges Swedish Workshop, a trade travel business meeting where buyers and sellers of Swedish tourism meet up for two days of intense networking. Ohlsonsmith has been asked to come up with an overall concept and feel for the upcoming Swedish Workshop 2010. As we love Sweden but also loves business we are more than happy to take on this exciting mission. As always we will use Emotional Design to create and make this event into something really special. Swedish Workshop 2010 will take place here in Stockholm on the 30th and 31st of may.

    An award celebrating the written word has been instituted by Swedish media broker Citypaketet, together with The Swedish Association of Communication Agencies. The Guldskrift (‘golden writing’) prize was designed by creative director Barbro Ohlson Smith of Ohlsonsmith. “As I have more than a fleeting interest in metal art craft, I welcomed the opportunity to design a three-dimensional prize to celebrate the importance of the written word,” says Ohlson Smith. The prize (as well as the winner of the award) will be presented at the Guldägget national communication awards ceremony (Sweden’s equivalent of D&AD) at Nacka factory on 15 April.

    Our Creative Director Barbro Ohlson Smith will give a lecture on Visual Branding at Broby Grafiska - College of Cross Media, on the 24th of march. Other lecturers you can listen to are scriptwriter/director Hanna Sköld, Creative director Adam Springfeldt, Acne, typographer Arne Heine and rhetoric expert, Elaine Bergqvist. All different proffessionals who will give their view on the subject of using storytelling as a red thread in todays communication.

    We are proud to announce that Barbro Ohlson Smith will be a member of The Visuelt Competition jury Oslo, 18-20 February. Visuelt is the biggest annual event for the creative industry in Norway. The competition is hosted by Grafill – The Norwegian Organization for Visual Communication, and the aim is to inspire and function as a meeting point for the industry. Grafill have hosted lecturers such as Stefan Sagmeister, Malcolm McLaren, Jonathan Harris, Marian Bantjes, to mention a few. Visuelt 2010 award winners will be announced at the award ceremony in Oslo the 7th of May.
