Arirang

Arirang is a popular family-run Korean restaurant that has been at the same central Stockholm address since 1975. I have had the privilege of working with the owners of Arirang, the Lim family, for over 15 years.
Over the years, I have worked on several projects for Arirang. The most recent was updating the restaurant's brand identity. The challenge was to create a seamless experience across all touchpoints, from the atmosphere in the restaurant and the online environment to the take-away packaging.
My goal was to honor Arirang’s history and origins while reflecting its status today as a beloved establishment in a cosmopolitan culinary city.
I chose to retain the existing logotype and built around it an identity that is tranquil and understated, yet distinct and self-assured. By focusing on details such as the choice of paper and printing techniques, I ensured that the main emphasis remained on the food. This approach extended across menus, packaging, shopping bags, business cards, gift cards, promotional materials, digital design, and ambient branding.
